My Sonnet

Ocean at Sunset
Ocean at Sunset

How dare I attempt to craft a sonnet in the spirit of the Bard… the real one.

What’s in a name, eh?

A bard by any other name is still a poet.

This being the season of Valentine, I toss my effort into the ocean, to sink or swim.

How to compare my love to the sunset?
Unfair to nature and its wonders brought
Each day turns to night, as the heavens let
but my love remains constant and yields not.
The colours of red and gold turn to black,
with he waning sun below the horizon
Radiance shines in your soul, with no lack
of light for your life continues rising.

What then of the jewels upon the lake,
when sparkled with rubies and diamonds.
With love shimmering, precious gems awake,
alive with new life like unfound islands.
So long as I have life and air to breathe
our sunset never wanes, and never leaves.

That’s it.

Let me know your thoughts on Sonnets and stuff.

Cheers!
